Rani Nair är utbildad vid the London Studio Centre 1993-1996 och har studerat konst och dans vetenskap vid universitet i Stockholm och Lund. Hon arbetar som dansare och koreograf. Hon har koreograferat, dansat och gjort research bl a i Danmark, Norge, Sverige, Tyskland, Österrike, Madagaskar, Indien, Mongoliet, Frankrike, Estland.
Hon har deltagit i workshops med bl a. Mark Tompkins, Ori Flomin, Martin Kilvady, Ong Keng Sen, Wendy Houstoun, Jonathan Burrows, Andrew Harwood, Jan Ritsema, Mårten Spångberg. Hon har jobbat för olika projekt och grupper såsom Julie Nioche/A.I.M.E. (F), Shobana Jeyasingh (UK), Roger Sinha (C), Attakalari (I), Annika B Lewis/Kassandra production (D).
2004 ingick hon i Dansens Hus satsning på unga koreografer, 2006 framförde hon som första koreograf från Sverige sitt eget verk vid CND Paris och 2007 presenterades hon inom ramen för IDEE-nätverket under Carte Blanche vid Tanzquartier Wien.
Hon är en del av konstnätverket Sweet and Tender och en av grundarna till ko-operativet Rörelsen - koreografer i Skåne. Hennes senaste projekt WE INSIST är ett samarbete med koreografen Mia Haugland Habib (Norge) och ljudkonstnären Jassem Hindi (Frankrike).
