19-24 augusti

Workshop with Noemie LaFrance!

Noemie LaFrance is a site-specific choreographer. She is the founder and artistic director of Sens - a non-profit arts organization that stages the public space through site-specific dance performance. The 18th until the 24th of August she is holding a workshop here for the coreographers that participate in utfall at Malmöfestivalen. The workshop is a collaboration between Kulturkraft Syd, Rörelsen, Danscentrum Syd and the coreographers in Malmö.

Residency at Dunkers!

The 10th-17th of July Emma Ribbing and Khamlane Halsackda have a residency at Dunkers in Helsingborg with Nya Folkdansen. The 2nd of August they performe at Helsingborgs Gatufestival.

Alice in Wonderland!

Big Wind presents Alice in Wonderland the 8th of July at 2pm at Tjolöholms castle where Torbjörn Stenberg is participating.

Crowd pleaser with RIBBING/HALSACKDA!

When becomes dance in the city poetry? Emma Ribbing and Khamlane Halsackda gives a performance around that question at Lindängens amfiteater Wednesday the 6th of July at 7 pm. The performance is a part of Malmö Sommarscen.

MHQ-Mostly High Quality's electro-cabaret: a dance-concert & poetry with bite!

A concert performance with our choreographer and dancer Emma Ribbing and sound designer Silas Bieri. The piece was developed when the two were in residence at Taldans in Istanbul earlier in May. The concert performance is a part of Dansstationens last Plattform before the summer!

Maria Naidu participate in tomorrows Lady party at Palladium with her Coctaildance here in Malmö. Lady party Malmö works for a more equal performance culture by focusing on the ladies.

IETM in Stockholm!

Emma Ribbing and Khamlane Halsackda participate at IETM in Stockholm this week. IETM is an international network for contemporary performing art. For this year the theme is "Whose story is it?"

Dance and sound performance project by Jenny Beyer and Jassem Hindi - in collaboration with Dani Brown Marko Milic, Anja Müller, Rani Nair and Constantin Pop Rosa Wernecke. Performing at Kampnagel K2 Hamburg the 8th of April until the 16th of April.

Teaterns Dag at Kulturhuset Mazetti!

March the 26th is the Theater's Day! For the 11th year, Malmö's performing arts institutions and independent groups hold a day of performances, workshops, hands-on, costume sales, and much, much more. For 50 SEK you buy an admission button, which allows access to all events during the day. New for this year is an overall theme for 2011: SOUND.

A dance piece by Lilavati, Kurt Jooss, Bengt Häger, Rani Nair at K3 Kampnagel Hamburg

Working title: Future Memory or Dixit Dominus or The words of Kurt or Lilavati Dominus or Rani <3 Lila

I've inherited the last dance of Kurt Jooss, Dixit dominus, which he choreographed for the Indian dancer Lilavati. In 2003 I made a reconstruction of the piece and have since performed it in Sweden, Paris and throughout Germany.

I am now re-considering my inheritance, re-questioning the mission and the overwhelming task of carrying something created by a legendary choreographer for a mythical dancer presented for audiences more than 30 years ago. How can the piece be relevant today?

Celebrating Malmö!

Emma Ribbing will attend and celebrate that Malmö will have 300.000 inhabitants on Saturday the 12th of March. She and Khamlane Halsackda will show the joy of movement and ask themselves when dance become city poetry.

Emma Ribbing and Khamlane Halsackda are performing "Dance Blobbs" at Bautakristallen at Babel here in Malmö tonight. It starts at 5pm.

Antigel in Geneva!

Our member Emma Ribbing is a part of the art collaborative Rrrrr and they are performing at the festival Antigel in Geneva between the 9th and the 12th of Februar with an alternativ cabaret!

Taldans at residency!

In January we have Taldans here within Skånes Danskollegium´s residency and the 21th of January you can see them perform at Dansstationens Platform. The 25th of January you can see their whole perfomance at Dansstationen as well!

Dance + Architecture = True

Lecture / performance at Skånes Dansteater

The Turkish choreographers / architects Filiz Sizanli and Mustafa Kaplan are in Malmö, invited by the Skånes Danskollegium were we are a member! Filiz has a background as an architect and Mustafa in the electronics and telecommunications. Together they go under the name Taldans. They will talk about their choreographic collaborations with a history of their background in architecture and technology. The lecture also includes elements of dance that are presented via both the DVD and live by the two choreographers.

NOTE: The lecture will be in English.

Torbjorn Stenberg teach in Brazil

Torbjorn Stenberg gives workshops in modern dance history, in which participants can try out choreographic concepts and the essential ideas of each period during the 1900s at the theater department at the University UNIRIO (Universidade Federal do Estado do Rio de Janeiro), and the Faculdade Angel Vianna, for Bachelor's and student teachers there.

Gray Areas - performance week

With focus on the word and language a number of artists within the visual, literary, musical and dance areas will performe in the project gray areas. The project is a collaboration between several actors: Ystad Art Museum, Tomelilla Art Gallery, Tjörnedala Art Gallery, The publishing Ramus, Inkonst and Kivik Art Centre. Our member Rani Nair will performe at Kivik Art Centre the 18th of September and at Tjörnedala Art Gallery the 19th of September.

Residency Kari Hoaas

Norwegian Kari Hoaas has residency here in week 32 and week 33. She has brought with her four dancers to work with her new piece Daybreak, a piece where Kari explores the conflict between our existence as, and need, to be independent individuals and our need for unconditional love.

Wednesday 18th of August at 11.15am they will show a work in progress from Daybreak here in the middle studio! Welcome!

Rörelsen till PAF i Frankrike!

Rörelsen har av Konstnärsnämnden tilldelats PAF:s vistelsestipendium i St Erme för att kreativt utveckla organisationens gemensamma projekt och utbyta erfarenheter med andra konstnärer. Resultatet från vistelsen kommer här på vår hemsida under hösten 2010.

Residens Erna Ómarsdóttir

Under november och december befinner sig dansaren och koreografen Erna Ómarsdóttir från Island i residens i Malmö tillsammans med musikern Valdimar Jóhannsson. Residenset organiseras av Skånes danskollegium (Dansstationen, Skånes Dansteater, Rörelsen och Danscentrum Syd) med stöd av Konstnärsnämndens Internationella dansprogram.
Hon gästar Dancing in the dark på Palladium och Panora 3-5 december.
